The Corporate Affairs Manager will lead AstraZeneca Saudi Arabia’s external engagement, reputation management, policy shaping, and communication efforts, aligning with the company’s strategy and values. The role requires proactive engagement with governmental bodies, regulatory agencies, healthcare associations, industry partners, media, and other key stakeholders to advance AstraZeneca’s interests and support access to innovative medicines.
What you’ll do
- Develop and implement the local Corporate Affairs strategy to support business objectives, in alignment with regional and global direction.
- Establish and nurture relationships with government officials, regulatory agencies, healthcare stakeholders, and policy makers.
- Monitor and shape local healthcare policy and regulatory developments, providing timely analysis and advice to senior management.
- Serve as the company’s primary spokesperson for media relations; manage proactive and reactive media inquiries and issues management.
- Drive AstraZeneca’s sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda within Saudi Arabia.
- Lead crisis and issues management, ensuring effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee all local external communications, including corporate announcements, media releases, and digital content, ensuring compliance with global brand guidelines.
- Support local Leadership Team with strategic counsel on reputation, policy, stakeholder management, and internal communications.
- Strengthen AstraZeneca’s visibility and reputation through engagement with business and industry associations (e.g., SFDA, healthcare chambers, industry groups).
- Advise on and coordinate public affairs and advocacy campaigns to shape a policy environment conducive to innovation and patient access.
- Lead or participate in employee engagement initiatives and drive consistent internal communication.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical, Market Access, Compliance, Regulatory, and other teams to align external messaging.
- Ensure all activities comply with AstraZeneca’s Code of Ethics, local regulation, and industry codes.
Essential for the role
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Policy, Communication, Political Science, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in corporate affairs, governmental affairs, communications, or public policy—preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
- Deep understanding of Saudi Arabian healthcare ecosystem, regulatory environment, and key policy issues.
- Strong network with local policy makers, regulatory agencies, and healthcare stakeholders is a plus.
- Proven experience in handling media, advocacy efforts, crisis communications, and stakeholder engagement.
